How will you help end the death penalty in TEXAS?!
1. Support TCADP's religious outreach program! Plan one of the following activities for your faith community this fall:
Ø Raise awareness of your faith traditions' position/statement on the death penalty within your congregation
Ø Hear testimony from a murder victim's family member or watch a film on the death penalty and hold a follow-up discussion (speakers and films available through TCADP)
Ø Toll your bells on the days of executions in Texas in order to encourage awareness, reflection, and prayer ( see www.curenational.org/bells for more information about this program)
Contact Vicki for additional ideas for activities and/or Texas-specific resources.
2. Get involved in efforts to prohibit the death penalty for severely mentally ill offenders in Texas! Fact sheets, postcards, and other resources will be available in September. Visit http://preventionnotpunishment.blogspot.com or contact Kristin Houlé at khoule@tcadp.org for more information.
3. If you are a member of a faith community, Rotary Club, or another civic organization, we need your help in scheduling speakers to raise the dialogue on the death penalty in Texas. Check out our speakers' bureau. Contact Vicki.
4. Encourage your friends, family members, neighbors, colleagues to JOIN TCADP!
