"My sister, Ginger, was murdered in 1985. Although we are still hopeful, the case remains unsolved.
If it is solved, I would not want Ginger’s murderer to get the death penalty for the following reasons:
1) Innocent people have been put to death.
2) The death penalty is barbaric. What kind of an example is our government setting for society? What kind of people are we?
3) The death penalty does not deter crime."
