The National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty stands in solidarity and grief with members of the Tree of Life Synagogue, the community and the people of Pittsburg and all those touched and saddened by this tragedy. We grieve as well with the people of Kentucky who just two days earlier experienced the murder of two Church elders, shortly after a gunman had tried to enter an African American Church.
Words are inadequate. All we can do is to try to bear the burden of the suffering of our fellow brothers and sisters in our hearts and rededicate ourselves to our mission and vision.
We seek to build a world where compassion, love and respect for all is the currency of our interactions. We seek to build a world where all are equal in the eyes of their neighbors as well as the law.
We rededicate ourselves in humble tribute to all those who have been lost to violence and to a world where justice rolls down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.
