The National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty has fought for over 30 years to bring about the end of capital punishment in America and across the world. NCADP and our more than 100 affiliates throughout the nation work every day to build public and political support that will lead to abolition.
Each year, NCADP hosts our Awards Dinner to recognize the successes of noteworthy leaders in the anti-death penalty field. Nearly 300 people attended the Dinner and conference last year, and we expect that given the distinguished awardees at the 2009 event, this number will be substantially larger.
This event allows us to celebrate those who have been at the vanguard of our important and necessary movement. At the 2009 Dinner, we will honor:
New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, who made New Jersey the first state to repeal the death penalty in over 40 years;
Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who has long stood as a person of faith against the death penalty;
Rachel King, the late abolition leader and author;
Kartemquin Films, makers of the Independent Film Channel documentary At the Death House Door;
Paul Conway of the Defender Association of Philadelphia and Robert Dunham andMichael Wiseman of the Capital Habeas Unit, Federal Community Defender, Eastern District of Pennsylvania; and
respected attorneys Henderson Hill of Ferguson Stein, George Kendall of Holland & Knight and Judge John Gibbons of Gibbons P.C., among others.
We hope you will consider sponsoring this event. A key part to the success of our Awards Dinner and Annual Conference is the support and sponsorship of allies and friends. Please this Sponsorship document for options you or your company may want to consider. Sponsorship Form
