Our name, the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, describes our mission, one we've honored since we got into this business more than thirty-five years ago. Stop the killing. Save lives. Help those with a murdered family member as well as those families with a relative on death row. Encourage states to give up the death penalty and spend those very substantial taxpayer dollars on reducing crime and helping its victims.

The nation's oldest organization dedicated exclusively to the abolition of the death penalty, NCADP is comprised of a partnership of more than one hundred state and national Affiliate organizations, thousands of advocates and volunteers, murder victims' family members and prominent civil and racial justice organizations.

Headquartered in Washington, DC, NCADP's seasoned professionals use their collective experience in social and criminal justice issues – more than 100 years worth – to provide political analysis and leadership to the larger anti-death penalty movement and hands-on direct assistance to state Affiliates. Through strategic planning, campaign development and training services, NCADP enables Affiliate organizations and thousands of individuals in every state to be effective, compelling advocates for change, building a broad, powerful national constituency favoring death penalty repeal.
