Dear NCADP Supporters,
Welcome to the next generation of Lifelines, the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty’s newsletter. This is our first entirely electronic issue—optimized to allow you to share and comment on the content as well as find other information related to topics you care about.
Much has happened in recent months related to criminal justice and the death penalty; from President Obama calling out the inherent racial bias in our criminal justice system to the recent Gallup Poll results showing that public support for the death penalty is at a 40-year low. Change is happening at NCADP as well. With the addition of a criminal justice reform veteran, Kara Gotsch, as the new Director of National Programs we are poised to kick off a new campaign in January designed to increase the visibility of death penalty opposition and advance legislative repeal efforts. We are calling it the 90 Million Strong Campaign, which highlights the large community of Americans who reject the death penalty or believe it is unfair.
We are excited to share more information with you in the months ahead. For now, with our new electronic version of Lifelines, we will be communicating with you more often and keeping you abreast of key developments and ways that you can get involved.
We hope that you will enjoy this new electronic version of Lifelines, and we encourage you to share it with others by forwarding this message or posting comments on Twitter and Facebook. If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, please feel free to contact Anita Grabowski, Communications Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many thanks for your generous support of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty's mission to abolish capital punishment in the United States.
